The traditional All-Slovenian meeting in the great hall of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia took place for the 19th time and is part of the “Dobrodošli doma” event, intended for Slovenians living worldwide. This year’s event was titled “Slovenian to Slovenian – Our Network is our Wealth: Challenges and Opportunities of Economic Integration to Preserve and Strengthen Slovene Identity Among Slovenians Around the World.”

One of the eminent speakers at the National Assembly was also Dr Štefan Bogdan Barenboim Šalej, the co-founder of the Slovenian Global Business Network (SGBN). The complete speech in the Slovene language is available at the following link: Državni zbor 29.6.23_dr. Šalej

All those present were first addressed by Minister Matej Arčon. In the opening speech, Minister pointed out the lack of cooperation; cooperation between the departments, more cross-border cooperation, and more cooperation between societies and institutions in individual geographical areas. It’s okay to be diverse, and it’s okay to have different opinions, but we also need to be able to unite on the most important topics. Minister concluded his speech with the following words: “Dear compatriots, I hope that the inhabitants of our motherland will learn from you as often as possible. Thank you for making this possible, I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions these days and, of course, welcome home.” Minister Arčon’s speech in the Slovene language is available HERE.
