Germany, where the Slovenian Business Club operated in Düsseldorf years ago, is Slovenia’s most important foreign trade partner. Nowadays, the Slovenia Frankfurt Business Club, led by Mr Igor Križnar, is an active business club in Frankfurt.

Trade with Germany comprises almost a fifth of the entire Slovenian trade in goods. Around 60% of exports to Germany consist of intermediate-consumption products, reflecting Slovenia’s great attachment to the German industry. At the same time, Germany is also the largest foreign investor in Slovenia.

Today, with an intent to better exploit and create business opportunities in the German market, Dr Štefan Bogdan Barenboim Šalej met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Berlin, H.E. Ana Polak Petrič. Discussing the two main topics, the revival of existing economic ties and the Slovenian business delegation in Germany next year, the meeting led to the conclusion that continuing to strengthen the presence of Slovenian businesses in Germany is extremely important for the Slovenian and diaspora’s economy.
