Hyla has more than half the global market share in the water filter vacuum cleaner niche.

“Since the beginning of our business, we have deliberately made a product that is designed to have a very long service life with regular servicing. We were subjected to mocking because of this. Today, when people are more aware of the importance of rational use of natural resources, this is our great advantage,” says Janez Pogačar, innovator and founder of Hyla.

The business of Hyla from Ljubljana began in 1991, when innovative engineers Janez Pogačar and nowadays retired Doro Erjavec, developed a prototype of a vacuum cleaner with a water filter for air and room cleaning. Today, Hyla vacuum cleaners are exported to the markets of 70 countries. Its biggest markets are Germany, France and the USA.

In addition to durability, Hyla’s other big asset is the efficiency of their appliance. It cleans the entire space, i.e. it cleans both surfaces and air – and this has become extremely important in the times of covid. The device works on the basis of a patent-protected solution – a water filter with a centrifugal separator, which also retains finer dust and micro particles in the water, which travel through holes in paper or textile bags in ordinary vacuum cleaners.
