SPIRIT Slovenia, which operates under the auspices of the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, has intensively cooperated with Slovenian business clubs abroad since 2008. With their knowledge and experience, they represent an important source of information for smaller and less experienced companies and an important support for the Slovenian economy abroad. The key activity of business clubs is not only opening the doors of Slovenian companies to foreign markets but also attracting foreign investors to Slovenia.

Slovenian business clubs are spread across almost all continents and complement the network of economic advisers at diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Slovenia abroad. In 2022, through a public tender, SPIRIT Slovenia co-finances the activities of 15 Slovenian business clubs in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Italy, Canada, Kosovo, Nigeria, Poland, the Russian Federation, Slovakia, Serbia, Tunisia, Zambia, and the United States.

This year, the Slovenian-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce joined the network of business clubs abroad, and after a break of several years, the Slovenian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce is part of the network again this year.
