We are proud of all our pillars of activity, in which a total of 470 people are employed, but it is true that the spa activity is our oldest. In two years we will be celebrating 170 years and as a spa today we are recognizable for rehabilitation, spa programs and spa treatment on the one hand and for water experiences under a unique opening glass dome and holiday breaks on the other. Another important feature of ours is that we know how to adapt quickly, and a good example of this was the covid period when we designed post-covid rehabilitation for those who had a more severe course of the disease. Let me add that we have more than 60 years of experience rehabilitating traumatic injuries or all diseases related to the locomotor system. Otherwise, recently more and more patients come to us with neurological diseases. More than half of the patients come for spa treatment.

And the non-medical or tourism part?

It’s different there. In the pre-coronavirus year 2019, the share of foreign guests in the hotel was between 65 and 70%. Last year, of course, the number turned in favour of Slovenian guests, who were around 65%. For this year, it appears that this share will decrease and there will be more foreign guests again. We also host many international sports events. For example, in the last period, we hosted table tennis, billiards, archery and handball championships, which also place us highly in the field of sports tourism.

The Congress Center is also important, where after two years of great corona emptiness, lively congress events are taking place again, as we were used to before covid. We have 1,100 seats and several halls in which we can host various events, we are holders of certificates such as Safe and Healthy for the event, Green & Safe, we have adapted to the conditions and we also carry out hybrid or repeated events.

“We want breakthrough tourism projects that will put Laško on the map of places that must be visited – for the excellent experience, natural healing factors and for the people – the hospitality of the people of Laška is already quite a proverb,” says Mojca Leskovar, president of the board of Thermana company.
