Yesterday, Slovenian Word Congress (SSK) sent a congratulation letter, signed by its President, Dr Boris Pleskovič, to the 15th Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.

“Dear Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Robert Golob,

On behalf of the Slovenian World Congress and the SSK Conference, I sincerely congratulate you on the formatting of the 15th Government of the Republic of Slovenia and taking the office of Prime Minister.
The half-million Slovenian diaspora has exceptional potential, which Slovenia should use to a greater extent than before. Our distinguished and influential compatriots around the world were our only diplomacy at the time of independence. They offered their invaluable and selfless help in contacting and intervening with leading representatives of the governments of important countries of the world to support the emerging Slovenian state. In this way, they contributed to the rapid and successful independence and recognition of the Republic of Slovenia. I want you to be the Prime Minister for the benefit of all Slovenes, to be proud of Slovenes abroad and to support their scientific and economic initiatives and achievements. Successful Slovenian individuals, in the homeland and abroad, need to be included in Slovenia’s development strategies and strive to ensure that thousands of Slovenians studying abroad return home to universities and into the economy. Only when we will create a favourable “climate” for all successful Slovenians a faster movement of Slovenia in a positive direction can be expected.
Times ahead will require a lot of effort. Slovenia, like the whole of Europe, will have to face the coming energy crisis and price increase. We will talk about these topics at XI. Conference of scientists and businesspeople from Slovenia and the world on June 16 and 17, 2022, at Brdo Congress Center.
