In the 7th meeting of »Slovenian Businesswomen Around the Globe« we had the privilege to host a Slovenian – Australian researcher and entrepreneur Kaja Antlej, PhD on the topic »Extended Reality Experiences – from Museums to Space«.

Dr Kaja Antlej is a researcher working in the intersection of human-centred design, digital heritage and virtual museums, extended reality, 3D printing, futures thinking, entrepreneurship and space (space heritage, human space exploration, NewSpace). Currently living and working in Melbourne, Australia.

Working in the intersection between advanced technology and its virtual reality applications. Kaja provided us with some insights into “extended reality experiences – from museums to space”, digital heritage, virtual museums, space industry and space tourism – to preserve and interpret the natural and human heritage in space and (on Earth). Dr Kaja obtained PhD in Museum and Heritage Studies at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Besides being very academically active by co-publishing with partners in several countries, as Senior Lecturer at Deakin University, Kaja is also very committed to uniting Slovenian communities worldwide as a president of SAAA – Slovenian Australian Academic Association.

Key points of the conversation were:

– Space industry, space station, space tourism, provide emotional and mental needs for people who will live and work in space;

– How to communicate Slovenian heritage for Slovenian migrants and younger generations.
